The rising stars of the Women’s C league - Hoops & Hope

Hoops & Hope won Playnetball’s Women’s C league in Angel for the first time. Get to know the team, their netball journey and their plans for 2026

In January 2026, the finals for Playnetball’s Women’s C league in Angel took place. Hoops & Hope were crowned the winning team, securing their first league win since joining Playnetball two years ago. We sat down with the team to learn more about them and celebrate their success.

What’s your team’s biggest achievement?

It has to be winning the league this season. We’re a team of best friends that wanted to do something wholesome together so many of us hadn’t played netball before we started four years ago. This was the first season we’ve ever won and we’re so proud of that achievement.

What’s your pre-game ritual?

I don’t know about pre game because we’re always just about turning up on time (sorry umpires and other team!). But we definitely have a post-game ritual of sticking around to chat, sometimes we end up chatting for so long after ours has finished.

What’s your favourite thing about Playnetball?

The umpires for sure! They’re really friendly and always come over to give us tips and advice during the breaks.

At Playnetball, we’ve loved watching the team grow and improve over the last few years and were incredibly proud when they’ve won the season.

Well done Hoops & Hope!
