The Highbury Tuesday Mixed C Summer 2026 season has come to an exciting end, and what a season it’s been! With ten teams competing, a nail-biting Championship Final and celebrations that continued long after the final whistle, our Tuesday mixed netball league in London delivered plenty of action, drama and community spirit.
As we celebrate our summer champions, we’re also looking ahead to an even bigger season of mixed netball in Highbury!
If there’s one match that summed up the excitement of the Summer 2026 season, it was the Championship Mixed C Final.
Regular finalists Ball Hogs faced Thunderbolts, who reached the final for the first time. What followed was an incredible contest that went right down to the wire, with both teams battling hard for the title.
Just when it looked like the result could go either way, Ball Hogs pulled off a Houdini act to snatch victory by a single goal!
Congratulations to Ball Hogs on another fantastic achievement, and a huge shout-out to Thunderbolts for an outstanding first appearance in the final. Both teams gave us a match to remember and a brilliant showcase of competitive mixed netball in London.
There was more to celebrate in our Plate Final, where long-standing Playnetball team The Eagles took on SHOT.
Having been part of our leagues for several seasons, The Eagles delivered a fantastic performance to secure a well-deserved victory.
Congratulations to The Eagles on the win, and credit to SHOT for putting up a strong contest and helping make the final such a great occasion. It’s always brilliant to see familiar teams returning to compete, improve and enjoy everything our London netball leagues have to offer.
At Playnetball, the fun doesn’t stop when the final whistle blows!
After an action-packed evening on the courts in Highbury, teams headed to Alwyne Castle to continue the celebrations. With a mini awards ceremony, a few well-earned drinks and plenty of opportunities to catch up with teammates and opponents, it was the perfect way to round off the summer season.
A special mention goes to The Sharon’s Strezleckis, who topped up their drinks kitty by winning our fun quiz! A fantastic result to round off a season full of competitive netball and good times.
It’s moments like these that make our netball leagues about so much more than what happens on court. Whether you’re chasing a trophy, getting active after work or meeting new people, being part of the Playnetball community is all about enjoying the game together.
